Social Media Intern


Capstrat is looking for an undergraduate social media enthusiast who wants to combine online marketing, a passion for technology and good writing skills to target the appropriate online communities, web markets and perform market research. To be considered you must thoroughly understand the blogosphere and social networking. Internships are available for Fall/Spring/Summer terms. Students should be able to work a minimum of 15-20 hours each week onsite at our location in Raleigh , NC . Interns should be available to work during normal business hours.

Are you proficient in social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, digg.com and YouTube? Do you read up on the latest Internet news, web app launches, and the next generation of the Web? Do you love brainstorming, working in groups, and taking immediate action upon request? If you answered yes to these questions, we encourage you to apply.

Capstrat social media engages with clients on a variety of web-based projects including:

  • Micro site development
  • Podcasting / Video
  • Online viral campaigns
  • Content strategy and development
  • Online community design and strategy
  • Blog strategy/development
  • Usability testing

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Online community research and development
  • Development of project plans and specifications
  • Proofreading and editing documentation
  • Researching new technologies
  • Creating new and out of box online marketing campaigns
  • Assist the Engagement marketing department in the development, execution and optimization of marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with team of marketing, design and client services
  • Contribute to marketing department's strategy including brainstorming, market research, social networking, and Internet marketing strategy
  • Create and maintain social networking profiles

Qualifications:

  • Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Marketing/Business/or similar
  • Attention to detail and outstanding organization details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in working in a creative environment
  • Ability to use MS Office products, including Excel
  • (Preferred) Knowledgeable of web metrics and analytics
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strategic thinker and keen sense of the Internet
  • Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High energy and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Exceptional research skills and the ability to recognize trends in any given industry
