15 years and counting...

Fifteen years ago, we had a computer in our house and it was used to play games (mostly my mom playing video poker).  I was 15, and communicated in person and on the phone.  I was lucky to have a 13 inch TV in my room.  Seems simple looking back.

Last night, the reality hit me of raising a child in today's plethora of communication channels.  We were watching the new NBC show, Parenthood.  It's one of our new favorite shows, but will probably not last since, well - it's NBC.  The storyline was about a couple’s 15 year old daughter racking up the cell phone bill with about a gazillion texts.  To find out who the texts were going to, the parents hacked into their daughters computer, to find out that she and this boy have been 'facebook official' for about a month.

No thanks.  How do I opt out of this part of raising a child?  So we sat there and wondered what it's going to be like in 15 years, when our little girl is 15.  We agreed on no computer or TV in her room, and no cell phone.  Something tells me that is going to be the least of our worries.

What are some crazy ways you think teens will communicate looking ahead to 2025?

Really we are growing and also technology increasing gradually. After some days we can watch different things from now.
