Capstrat Appoints Michael Szumera New Executive Vice President

Capstrat, a full-service communications agency, today announced the appointment of Michael Szumera as executive vice president and director of client services. In this role, Szumera will lead client services teams with a focus on helping clients succeed at critical moments. Szumera will report to Capstrat President Karen Albritton.

Szumera brings a wealth of communications experience to Capstrat with a history of developing and leading national and global initiatives for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and diagnostics companies. Szumera joins Capstrat from MedThink Communications, where he was vice president and public relations practice lead. Prior to MedThink, Szumera was managing director, healthcare, at Burson-Marsteller in New York, where he served as global client lead for one of the agency’s largest healthcare portfolios. Throughout his career, he has led corporate reputation, brand communications, crisis management and educational programming for clients, including Merck, AstraZeneca, Johnson and Johnson, Pfizer, Novartis and Quest Diagnostics.
