RALEIGH, N.C. – Sarah Lamm, senior account executive for Capstrat, a communications agency in Raleigh, N.C., was recently selected as president of the board of directors for the North Carolina Public Relations Society of America (NCPRSA). As president, Lamm appoints committee chairpersons and oversees the activities of all officers, committees and administrative services.
Meghan Brawley Woodlief, also a senior account executive for Capstrat, was recently appointed to serve on the board of NCPRSA as president-elect and seminar chair. The president-elect works closely with the president to learn duties for the coming year of service. The president-elect is also responsible for planning and implementing the Chapter’s annual public relations and marketing seminar each fall.
“NCPRSA is an outstanding group that continues to strengthen our public relations community,” said Karen Albritton, president of Capstrat. “I’m excited for Sarah and Meghan to lead the association through 2013. Their experience in the changing communications landscape will be a great asset as they set the direction for programming, networking and training opportunities.”
Lamm and Woodlief have served as NCPRSA board members since 2007 and 2010, respectively. Lamm’s former roles include president-elect and seminar chair, as well as programs chair and vice president. Woodlief also served as program coordinator.
NCPRSA manages a full slate of activities, including professional development meetings, networking get-togethers and an annual public relations and marketing seminar that attracts participants from across the state. In 2009, NCPRSA introduced the InSpire Awards to recognize excellence in public relations and communications. Chapter membership includes access to an active job bank and reduced costs for all chapter activities. The chapter offers mentoring for members pursuing PRSA accreditation and support for PRSSA student chapters at several state universities.
