Cord Silverstein, Capstrat Executive Vice President of Interactive Communications, will participate in a panel discussion on social media presented by the Duke MBA High Tech Club and The Fuqua School of Business. The discussion, “Innovation Advantage in a Dynamic Economy,” will be held on October 7, 2009, and includes speakers from Ford Motor Company, Dell, Red Hat, Ignite and Embarq. Panelists will demonstrate how organizations can effectively adopt and transform their investment in innovation to become more competitive in today’s environment.
The panel is part of an outreach program by Duke University that represents Fuqua students interested in the technology sector and serves as a liaison between corporate partners, the Career Management Center and other professional clubs. The Duke MBA Technology Symposium is one of the largest student-led conferences in the nation.
"The economy has taken on a drastic transformation in the past year; I see companies cutting costs wherever they can," says Silverstein. "This is not business as usual. Organizations have to become more innovative and cost-effective with their communications."
The event will be held at The Fuqua School of Business on Duke University’s campus from 7:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on October 7, 2009. The event is open to the public with no charge to attend.
As a leader in social media and active partner with The Triangle Chapter of the American Marketing Association, Capstrat and Silverstein also host a series of Social Media Special Interest Groups. The group meets monthly to keep marketers up-to-date on trends and best practices. The Social Media Interest Group is open to AMA members.
