Capstrat employees Todd Moy and John Romano were in good company as they spoke about the future of the interactive digital community at the 2009 South by South West (SXSW) Conference. By combining film and digital, SXSW is a festival that explores the digital world in creative ways. Companies such as Google, Microsoft and Twitter attended the weeklong conference as well as thousands of other top innovators, web developers, designers, bloggers and entrepreneurs.
Recently the recipient of nine ADDY Awards, Capstrat is successfully incorporating ingenuity for their clients through public relations, branding and advertising. In “Love on a Cloud,” Moy discusses the possibility of an online marriage in which people never actually meet. Romano in his blog, “Who Will Check My Email After I Die?” discusses the legal, technical and philosophical issues that define death and digital afterlife. Both creative ways to approach topics within the digital world, Moy and Romano demonstrate the creativity necessary for future success in agencies like Capstrat.
“The South by South West conference is a way to really see what’s going on, on a global scale, for digital media,” said Romano. “It’s just a great place to meet and witness innovation and new ideas in the field. It was great to be asked to be a part of that.”
SXSW began as a small music festival in Texas. It has since grown into one of the largest festivals in the country on interactive media and film. In its 23rd year, the conference attracted nearly 1,800 speakers this year to discuss various topics on interactivity. Inspiring innovation and creativity of web developers, designers, bloggers, wireless innovators and new media, global minds converge to bring together the best and brightest in the fields.
