RALEIGH, N.C. - Capital Strategies, a strategic communications firm with offices in Raleigh and Charlotte, has been engaged for several projects that include work for a renewable energy program, an economic development initiative for North Carolina and an educational Web site tied to an upcoming Smithsonian exhibit.

Capital Strategies will help launch NC GreenPower, a renewable energy initiative started by the North Carolina Utilities Commission and run by Advanced Energy. Of the more than 29 renewable energy programs being implemented in the country, NC GreenPower is the nations first statewide initiative to improve environmental protection by increasing the supply of wind, solar, and biomass sources of energy. The campaign will educate North Carolinians about renewable energy sources and motivate them to contribute to the access and development of renewable energy sources. Capital Strategies will provide comprehensive communications expertise ranging from public relations, media relations, marketing and creative services.

The Research Triangle Foundation has also retained Capital Strategies to revamp its current Web site (www.rtp.org) for a fall launch. Enhancements to the site will include an improvement in user-friendliness, as well as interactive land and building sales information supporting the Foundations role as ambassador for the Research Triangle Park.

"America on the Move," the Smithsonian National Museum of American History's first major exhibition on transportation since 1964, will combine all the modes of transport -- road, rail, air, water -- into an interpretive experience. The National Asphalt Pavement Association, a key sponsor of the exhibit, has hired Capital Strategies to create Web-based industry-related educational materials to reach millions of young people. The new Web site will serve as both an educational and recruitment tool for the association.
