Capital Strategies Strengthens Public Affairs Team

Capital Strategies has beefed up its Public Affairs staff to support its growing work in grassroots advocacy, issues management, and coalition building efforts.
The Raleigh-based public relations, public affairs and marketing communications firm has hired Melissa Wajnert as a Senior Account Executive and promoted Anna Boyle Roberts to Senior Account Executive, both in the firm's Public Affairs division.
Wajnert comes to Capital Strategies from New York, where she was communications director for The Creative Coalition, the leading nonprofit advocacy organization for the arts and entertainment industry. Wajnert has also worked for APCO Associates and DeVillier Communications in Washington, D.C., and orchestrated grassroots and national media efforts for health care non-profit organizations. Wajnert is a graduate of American University and the Campaign Management Institute.
Roberts has been with Capital Strategies since 1998, and specializes in coalition-building. She leads the firm's work with The Business Roundtable, mobilizing businesses to lobby Congress on behalf of international trade, and coordinates other business coalitions that lobby the General Assembly and Congress. She is a fellow of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership and a graduate of Converse College.
