Capabilities with New Hires
RALEIGH, NC – December 18, 2006 - Raleigh-based strategic communications firm, Capstrat, today announced the addition of four new employees – Alison McLaurin, Anna Adlard, Warren Kuhn and Katrina Brown.
Alison McLaurin joins Capstrat as a senior account executive and brings a vast knowledge of government relations to the N.C. Health and Wellness Trust Fund account. McLaurin comes to Capstrat with extensive experience in government affairs, journalism and communications for national and regional clients. A highlight of her career, McLaurin led numerous gubernatorial candidates’ political and communications activities, has worked on four presidential campaigns, two political conventions and on the presidential inaugural committee. She most recently served as the director of marketing and public affairs for the Health and Wellness Trust Fund and will work with that account as a Capstrat employee. McLaurin also sits on the board for the Triangle Urban League and Kids Voting.
Anna Adlard comes to Capstrat as an account executive from Jennings. Adlard is seasoned in government affairs, internal communications and public relations. As part of her personal development, Adlard spent five months in South Africa as a volunteer where she launched and led a computer training course for disadvantaged South African women. She has professional experience in the Congressional arena as well as strategic communication development in advertising, marketing and branding. Adlard plans to utilize her various talents and experiences by expanding client relationships and providing top-notch results for clients. Adlard’s work will focus on health care and life science clients.
Warren Kuhn, Capstrat’s newest project coordinator, brings internal and external communications experience to Capstrat’s client services team. Kuhn hails from Red Hat where her accomplishments include establishing a monthly internal communications video magazine for the company as well as assisting in planning the 2006 Red Hat Summit in Nashville, T.N. Throughout her career, Kuhn’s responsibilities have included business pitching and media relations. Kuhn worked on communications and public affairs for Syngenta in Basel, Switzerland and will bring her communications experience in media, internal and external communications to two significant Capstrat clients: GlaxoSmithKline and Deloitte. Kuhn is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Katrina Brown is the newest addition to Capstrat’s accounting team. Formally employed by Navman USA as an accounts receivable specialist, Katrina has experience with payment posting, credit application processing and other accounting processes. In her new role as billing accountant, Brown will be responsible for processing timesheets, printing billing worksheets and communicating with account executives about account status issues. She also maintains contract files and assists the accounting manager and CFO with projects as needed.
According to Capstrat director of client services, John Peterson, these four new employees bring valuable assets to the firm and its clients. “Alison, Anna, Warren and Katrina all bring invaluable skills in government, employee and media relations to our firm,” said Peterson. “These new team members are all essential additions to our team. They will enhance the firm’s capacity to serve our clients and we are thrilled to have them on board.”
