Capital Strategies Donates More Than 6,000 Pounds of Food to the Food Bank of North Carolina
RALEIGH, N.C. Capital Strategies, a strategic communication firm based in Raleigh, donated more than 6,000 pounds of food to the Food Bank of North Carolina as a result of its employee-led food drive.
"If the recipe for strong community is being involved, Capital Strategies leads the way," said Jane Cox, executive director for the Food Bank of North Carolina. "What a terrific food drive, the impact is phenomenal."
Playing off of the firm's tag line "Think. And Deliver", the steering committee created the theme "Donate. And Deliver" to encourage the staff to donate food. There was close to 100% participation by employees.
"Our food drive was a bigger success than we could have imagined," said Erin Carnahan a member of the steering committee for the company-wide food drive. "Employees donated over 3,500 pounds of food and necessities, as well as monetary contributions from our Boomerang Society and the company on behalf of clients, that brought the total to more than 6,000 pounds of food."
Capital Strategies' Boomerang Society is the firm's community involvement program that encourages volunteerism among employees.
