Community Service
Capstrat believes that helping others is the right thing to do. So we created The Boomerang Society, a community involvement program driven and managed by employees. It dramatically increases our philanthropic activity – in dollars, hours and employee engagement. The Holmes Report ranked The Boomerang Society as one of the top 25 PR Agency Community Service Programs in the nation in 2001 and 2002.
Staffers at all levels are empowered to determine how to spend the company’s $10,000 cash earmarked for philanthropy. The group chooses a pro bono client every year, creates volunteer days, encourages employee volunteerism and oversees a matching gift program that donates $250 for every 50 hours volunteered by an employee. Boomerang projects also create leadership opportunities for junior staffers to build their skills in strategic planning and client relationship management.
Of course, client work always comes first. But The Boomerang Society reflects our commitment to a workplace culture that focuses on more than work. All told, Capstrat is a better place because of The Boomerang Society. So is our community.
