Inside Look

Take a step inside our doors to see what makes us tick — and what makes Capstrat a fundamentally different communications firm.

Collaboration.

We work hard and we work together. Our teams are formed around our clients’ needs, not our own org chart. Everyone pitches in to create big ideas and to make them happen. In fact, the success of the entire company is a shared responsibility. We all contribute to corporate planning, and we all know where we stand on financials. Everybody knows the plan and their part in reaching our goals.

Inspiration.

We find it everywhere. In music, scooters, lava lamps and personalized cubicle decor. A white board covering an entire wall has birthed everything from Web sites to Fortune 250 communications plans. Work in progress hangs on the walls for informal input. And our high-tech Herman Miller cubicles open up the work space for real interaction.

Excellence.

Despite our diverse backgrounds, we share a common ambition to be the best. Once we set our sights on a goal, we don’t back down until we’ve nailed it. It’s the kind of determination you usually equate with Olympic champions. We channel this drive for excellence to help our clients win.

Fun.

Bowling tournaments, baseball outings, monthly ice cream birthday parties, trivia challenges–we play well with others. And on the rare snow day, the staff gathers to watch the most fearless among us toboggan down the steep hill adjacent to our office.

Listening.

At annual input sessions, employees vent, suggest, praise and criticize. Staff surveys rate how well we adhere to corporate principles. Rooted in that feedback, we make actual changes. Examples: a bi-weekly company newsletter, fewer staff meetings, and our annual rite of summer–half-days off on alternating Fridays, to get a head start on beach traffic.

Service.

We believe in helping others, as a company and as individuals. We created a community service group, the Boomerang Society, and put employees in charge. Every year we choose a pro bono client, create volunteer days and oversee a matching gift program.
