At Capstrat our brains are always on. The result: a stockpile of insights, opinions and observations.
As an award-winning writer, art director and illustrator, Adam is a triple threat in the advertising world. His multi-faceted communications career has generated breakthrough creative work and defined marketing strategy for some of the nation’s best-known corporations. He puts that same energy to work for Capstrat’s clients.
With almost 20 years experience in the industry, Adam has built a stellar reputation both locally and nationally. As the founder of Distill, a creative boutique in Raleigh, Adam lent his creative and strategic expertise to a range of clients including Kingsdown Mattresses, IntraHealth International, Dey Pharmaceuticals and Mother Earth Brewing.
Before establishing Distill, Adam spent years on the West Coast, first at Ketchum Advertising, shaping messages for such clients as Bank of America, Hunt-Wesson Foods (Orville Redenbacher, Knott’s Berry Farms, Peter Pan), Pacific Bell and Novartis Crop Protection.
During the dot-com boom, Adam freelanced at virtually every major Bay Area agency, including Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; Foote, Cone & Belding; TBWA\Chiat\Day; McCann-Erickson; and Butler, Shine & Stern. His work included advertising and strategic planning for Charles Schwab, Microsoft, Levi’s, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Apple and the San Francisco Giants, among others.
Not to be confined to advertising, Adam has dabbled in several other communications media as well. His daily comic strip, “Herschel,” was chosen for syndication by Creators Syndicate. He co-created an animated pilot called “Major Flake” for Cartoon Network and his short film, “Love Scene,” won Best Narrative Short at the Ohio Independent Film Festival.
Adam's work has been recognized by The New York Art Directors Show, The Clios, Graphis, Creativity Magazine, The San Francisco Show, PRINT, The AIGA Boom! Awards and ADDYS, among others.
Adam earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in art and speech communication from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a master’s of fine arts in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
