With a deep understanding of both the science and business of Web analytics and metrics, Jim brings nine years of experience to Capstrat’s Interactive team. His ability to analyze online customer behavior and track measurable results with tools like Google Analytics, Omniture and CoreMetrics delivers valuable insight to our clients, helping them maximize their online marketing objectives. Jim puts his talent to work for clients such as Lenovo, Quintiles, Duke Energy and CESI Debt Solutions.

Jim honed his skills at some of the top technology companies in the world. Before coming to Capstrat, he served as Lenovo’s chief Web analytics expert and trained over 200 employees. His responsibilities included leading a global team of Web analysts in creating, maintaining and analyzing weekly dashboards for the sales and marketing teams, as well as providing ad hoc analysis for executives and decision makers. Jim also implemented the Omniture Web analytics solution to measure online visitor behavior.

Jim transitioned to Lenovo after its acquisition of IBM’s PC business. As senior sales operations specialist, he helped the different brands and business units improve their performance through his analysis of online transactions, Web traffic and marketing data. He also served as the primary sales operations analyst for the ibm.com TeleWeb organization, driving sales and leads for several IBM brands.

When Jim first arrived at IBM, he was in charge of the Personal Computer Division (PCD) metrics and analytics. In this role, he created research methodologies to conduct in-depth analysis and developed business analysis and data mining educational tools to grow the skill level of the entire organization.

In addition to his extensive Web analytics experience, Jim’s background includes a stint as the director of marketing at Industrial Reports, Inc., an industrial construction market research firm in Raleigh. During his time there, Jim developed and implemented a marketing strategy that doubled sales within a year.

Jim holds an MBA from NC State University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Appalachian State University.
